Library Exhibit: Anywhere But Here In-Person

About the Exhibit:
This exhibit is open to all UCC students, faculty, staff, and community members, and will be available for viewing during regular library hours from March 3, 2026 - March 25, 2026.
What does “home” suggest to you? To many of us, the word conjures up a feeling of security, comfort, and a place to call your own. Historically, home ownership has symbolized a family’s social status and one’s economic security. However, not all residents have had the chance to participate in the “American Dream.” Some Oregonians, even those who can afford to buy their own homes, have been prevented from freely choosing where they live.
This display chronicles Oregon’s largely unknown history of discrimination, segregation, and displacement, as well as the progress that has been made in overcoming this history and the challenges that remain.
About the Organization:
The Fair Housing Council of Oregon (FHCO) is a statewide civil rights organization that proactively promotes housing justice, equity, and inclusion. Our mission is to end illegal housing discrimination and promote equal access to housing choice through education and enforcement of fair housing law.
